On the afternoon of September 11, Hu Wangming, Secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of Baowu, and Wang Zhonglin, visiting Deputy secretary of the Party Committee and governor of Hubei Province, held talks and exchanges on deepening central and local cooperation and promoting the implementation of the strategic cooperation agreement between the two sides in Baowu Building.

Hu Wangming introduced the operation of Baowu and its enterprises in Hubei in the first half of 2023 and the promotion of key projects under the cooperation agreement between the two sides. He pointed out that Hubei Provincial Party Committee and provincial government and relevant departments attach great importance to the strategic cooperation between the two sides, provide strong policy support for the implementation of the agreement, and do a lot of meticulous coordination work. While expressing his gratitude, Hu Wangming stressed that Hubei is an important steel production base, ore resource supply base and steel industry chain business cluster development area of Baowu, and Baowu will vigorously promote the docking of new materials, new energy, smart services and other businesses with Hubei and integrate into the strategic development of Hubei. We hope that the Hubei Provincial Government and the Wuhan Municipal Government will continue to support us. Signing and promoting the strategic cooperation agreement is the most effective way and guarantee to promote the integrated development of both sides. Baowu will further accelerate the implementation of key matters and projects to achieve win-win cooperation and high-quality development with Hubei.

In his speech, Wang Zhonglin pointed out that Baowu has developed rapidly in recent years, especially in the current complex and severe economic situation at home and abroad, still achieved good production and business performance, deeply admire. At the same time of its own development, Baowu also actively supports local economic development, playing a strong driving role in the economic and social development of Hubei province, especially in the epidemic prevention and control, Wuhan defense battle and post-epidemic recovery, and has made positive contributions.  It is hoped that Baowu will continue to fuel the development of Hubei Province, accelerate the transformation and development of Hubei steel enterprises, and support the urban transformation and upgrading of Wuhan. He said that the people of Hubei have deep feelings for Baowu, and will spare no effort to support the development of Baowu in Hubei, care about the production and life of cadres and workers, and create a good environment and conditions for the implementation of the agreement project.

During the talks, Zhuge Yujie, deputy secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, and Sheng Yuechun, vice governor of Hubei Province, introduced the economic and social development of Hubei Province and related cooperation intentions.

In order to promote the cooperation between the two sides to achieve better and faster results, presided over by Zhu Yonghong, Standing Committee member of Baowu Party Committee, Chief accountant and secretary of the Board of Directors, the two sides held the signing ceremony of the Minutes of Talks. Sheng Yuechun, Vice governor of Hubei Province, and Hou Angui, Standing Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Baowu Party Committee, respectively signed the Minutes of the Talks on behalf of the two sides.

Secretary General of Hubei Provincial Government, deputy Secretary General, relevant commissions and bureaux and relevant leaders of Wuhan City, and heads of relevant departments and subsidiaries of Baowu Headquarters attended the talks.
