Li Zhongping said that new materials are the material guarantee for high-end, green and intelligent manufacturing. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the traction of major national projects and the strong support of relevant departments, China's new material industry has made great progress, the main material system in key areas has been initially built, and the industrial scale has been expanding, which has strongly supported the development of the national economy and the construction of national defense.

Lu Sanitary said that as an important basic material for aerospace, clean energy, high-end preparation, high-end equipment manufacturing and other industries, the role of new materials has been deepening in various fields. It can be said that whether the development of the field of new materials is good or not, whether the supporting role is strong or not, directly determines the international competitiveness of our industry in the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial change.

Zheng Bei introduced that in recent years, Sichuan Province has taken the development of characteristic and advantageous industries and strategic emerging industries as the main direction, made good use of rich clean energy and strategic resources, and accelerated the development of vanadium, titanium, rare earth and other new material industries with Sichuan characteristics and advantages. In 2022, the advanced materials industry in Sichuan Province will achieve an operating income of about 850 billion yuan.

In the main forum, Nobel Prize winner Konstantin Novoselov made a keynote report, sharing from the development trend of materials and future applications of materials.
