Recently, Baotou Iron and Steel Co., LTD has successfully produced and exported high-strength heat-treated rail 380HB grade to Mexico, which helps Maya railway construction. Baotou Iron and Steel Co., LTD has entered the ranks of domestic manufacturers of high-strength wear-resistant rail for export heavy-haul railway, which also marks a major breakthrough in the promotion and application of high-end rail in the international market.

In order to meet the operating requirements of the 32.5 ton heavy axle load of the Maya railway line, the customer has put forward special requirements for performance indicators such as hardness, yield strength and tensile strength, which are significantly higher than the technical indicators specified in the standard. Combined with the research results of the previous high-strength heat-treated rail project, the scientific research team of Baotou Steel Group organized several rounds of pilot furnace smelting, rolling and heat treatment tests to determine and formulate the steel production composition system and rolling heat treatment process. Baotou Steel Technology Center product development staff Wang Jiawei said: "We carried out systematic research and analysis around a number of key technologies such as industrial high purity smelting, high precision universal rolling, accurate online heat treatment, etc. Under the full cooperation of all units of the company, we quickly carried out industrial trial production in a short time, and achieved from research and development to mass production within three months, and successfully completed the task of supplying heat-treated rail 380HB to Mexico. All the performance tests of the rail meet the technical requirements of users, and the one-time pass rate of the performance is 100%."
