On May 5, Zhang Xiaogang, president of the Chinese Society of Metals, Liu Yiteng, general manager of Sichuan Metallurgical Group and president of the Green and low carbon Metallurgy Research Institute, unveiled the green and low carbon Metallurgy Research Institute at the National Electric Furnace short Process Steel Making Conference held in Luzhou, Sichuan Province.

The Green and Low-carbon Metallurgy Research Institute is led by Sichuan Metallurgical & Control Group, the largest short-process steelmaking enterprise in China, and the Chinese Society of Metals. Experts in metallurgical process, green intelligence, safety management, ecological environment and other fields, as well as research units, are invited to join the institute. With the goal of "based in Sichuan, facing the whole country and leading the world", the institute co-builds and shares the ecosystem platform of "production, study, research and application" in the metallurgical industry. It is committed to promoting technological innovation in China's metallurgical field, overcoming the "bottleneck" problem and the green and low-carbon development of the industry, building an industrial innovation consortium with international advanced level and gathering high-level innovative talents and management talents.
