On the afternoon of April 27, Chen Derong, Secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of Baowu, met with Zhang Jingang, vice governor of Gansu Province and his delegation at Baowu Building. The two sides held discussions and exchanges on new energy, resources and green and low-carbon development. Baowu general manager and deputy Party Secretary Hu Wangming and Zhang Jingang also exchanged views.

Chen Derong briefly introduced the reform and development of Baowu in recent years in his speech. He pointed out that the current challenges and opportunities coexist in China's steel industry. On the one hand, the industry is low and scattered, and the industry concentration needs to be further improved. Therefore, Baowu vigorously promotes joint reorganization, and realizes scale economy based on professional competence through professional integration. On the other hand, in the context of carbon peak carbon neutrality, the steel industry faces the problem of green and low-carbon development. Baowu Yong when the new low-carbon metallurgy modern industrial chain is long, give full play to the advantages of technology, talent, capital and so on, the current mainstream low-carbon metallurgical route were explored and studied, and made a great breakthrough, for the iron and steel industry to crack the low-carbon development problem to provide Baowu solution. At the same time, Baowu increased in the upstream alloy, raw materials and downstream urban mining and other industries extension efforts, the overall layout. Based on the future development, Baosteel vigorously promotes the international development, actively explores the application of comprehensive material solutions, constantly expands the development space of the industry, and promotes the progress of human civilization. Chen Derong stressed that Gansu has obvious geographical advantages, rich in new energy and resources, and has very good conditions for development. Driving local economic development is also the mission responsibility of Baowu as a state-owned enterprise. We hope that both sides can further explore cooperation and development opportunities, give full play to Gansu's advantages, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

In his speech, Zhang Jingang pointed out that Baowu has made great contributions to the development of local economy in Gansu province, for which he expressed his heartfelt thanks. Many enterprises in Gansu are in the stage of transformation and development, facing difficulties such as enterprise governance and reform. This trip is also to lead a team to study the advanced ideas and modern management of Baowu. He stressed that for a long time, logistics costs have basically decided the layout of the industry, but with the rise of energy costs, energy is playing an increasingly important role in the layout of the industry. Gansu Province has obvious advantages in new energy and resources, good industrial foundation and great development potential. If resources and energy advantages can be combined on the spot, great benefits will be generated. In terms of new energy, resources, green and low-carbon metallurgy, Gansu is quite compatible with the industrial development of Baowu. We hope to strengthen cooperation with Baowu to further promote the economic and social progress and development of Gansu.
